April and May will be two months full of initiatives linked to the EELISA European Project, the international network of universities and research institutes funded by the European Commission that aims to transform higher education in Europe by strengthening the link between engineering and society. The initiatives personally involve the Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna and the Scuola Normale, which, from 17 to 19 May, will host the second edition of the EELISA Research-based Learning (RBL) Symposium, a moment of confrontation that focuses on sharing research-based learning approaches.
Let's take a detailed look at all the EELISA spring initiatives:

2nd EELISA Research Based Learning Symposium in Pisa

From 17 to 19 May, the Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna and the Scuola Normale Superiore will jointly host the 2nd EELISA Research-based Learning (RBL), a symposium which aims to share research-based learning approaches. This year's edition will focus on sharing experiences and "good practices" within EELISA Communities. A Call is now open to contribute as a speaker to the Symposium (deadline 17 April) in one of the following sessions: RBL Approaches; EELISA Communities; EELISA Experiences.

EELISA Connect Open Call for Workshop Funding

The first EELISA InnoCORE Open Call is open (deadline 20 April) for funding of up to €17,000 for thematic workshops aimed at promoting an active exchange of ideas between research staff (from phd students to professors) of at least three EELISA partners to generate new joint research projects and support international mobility (full link https://eelisa.eu/eelisa-connect-first-innocore-joint-call/). Two further calls will be opened in the course of the project by 31 May 2024.

2nd EELISA Joint Call for Funding Training Activities

The 2nd EELISA Joint Call is also open (deadline 30 April) for funding training activities of two different types:

  • "Challenge-based learning opportunities", innovative learning methodologies based on the challenges of the Sustainable Development Goals and relevant within EELISA Communities;
  • "Multiskilling pilots", training paths aimed at the multiskilling and hybridisation of the engineer of the future and, vice versa, of other professionals from the social sciences, natural sciences and humanities with engineering skills.

A dedicated online infosession will be held on 14 April at 10 a.m. (registration at this link).
